Ambition, professionalism, perseverance and cheerfulness are the key attributes that best describe our coleague, Florin.
From early childhood years, nature and sports have been an integral part of his life, practicing rugby and handball for several years, thus developing a strong team spirit and leadership traits, while also being very competitive.
Hiking in the mountains and exploring nature have always been his big passion, so obstacle course races came as a natural progression in this direction.
Finishing the Braşov Sports High School , earning a degree at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education from Braşov and further pursuing his career with a master’s degree in physical recovery at the University of Târgu Mureş, he then continued his path as a coach at the Weplay recreational center from Braşov, gaining significant experience in over 6 years of closely working with people of all kinds.
He eagerly looks forward to sharing his vast experience with each and every one of you at all the events from the Bour’s Challenge training ground.

To my friends I go by the name of “Happy”, but I’m actually Pătraşcu Alexandru Valentin.
Being an active person, I went to the Braşov Sports High School and then the Faculty of Physical Education and Mountain Sports from Braşov.
20 years ago I discovered a sport that highly contributed to my development as a human being and as an athlete. It was my first encounter with martial arts, and only the beginning of an ongoing journey.
I have my fair share of medals from national and international Ashihara Karate tournaments.
The mountains are my second great passion. Ever since middle school I was introduced to their misteries by mountain and nature loving people who pointed out to all their beauties, but also taught me to respect and love the mountains.
My passion for sports, fitness and everything that implies physical preparation makes me seek new training methods to creatively meet my clients’ needs.
I am a certified Ashihara Karate coach at the Happy Fighters club and a swimming instructor at the Spa Center of Aro Palace Hotel in Braşov, where I teach swimming lessons to children and adults (beginners and advanced).
For me, Spartan Race courses came as a mental and physical challenge. I began with a „Sprint” course in Hungary in 2015, followed afterwards by more and more demanding ones: „Super”, „Beast”, „Ultra Beast” and „Trifecta”.

I’m the newest member and I think this happened in a rather unexpected, but also expected way. We simply met and realized that we can communicate very well without talking too much and that we have complementary traits, so teamed up while going for a run on Tâmpa (one of the most popular local hills).
Same as the other team mates, besides graduating from Sports Faculty, I also enjoy doing sports from an early age, to the degree that if 2 days pass by without moving my bones, I get the looks of a cranky manequin.
In my childhood I explored most of the important local mountains , then I also ran in their surroundings as part of half marathon, marathon or ultra marathon contests. I am also acquainted to triathlon, tenis, rafting, kayaking, SUPing, and obstacle race courses brought me closer to the Bour team , with whom we strive to reach a best as possible level of preparation for those who wish to accept our challenge.
Hence the „coach” designation that I earned, which is no small feat, because here we like to do things at a really high level.
Closely follow our Facebook and Instagram pages, since we always have something to show you about our events and endeavours, and if you think we’re talking bollocks, I’m the one responsible with posting, so please, do bring to my attention any issues. But we take our stuff seriously, regardless of how we brag, because we surely do that every now and then, but it is surely legit.
